How to Get Your Kids to Eat More Vegetables
Most parents know that children really don’t like eating vegetables. This is just a type of food that is not sweet at all and is rather bland for the most part. Getting your kids to eat their vegetables is something that is generally a huge battle. Find out some tactics that you can use that will help get your kids to eat more vegetables.
The first thing that you need to look into is juicing your vegetables. There are blends of mostly fruit with some vegetables and greens that you can juice to make drinks. If you do it right, it will just taste like fruit juice and not a vegetable. You can sneak in a few servings of vegetables this way. Just make sure you find a blend that your child will drink.
Serve foods that have vegetables hidden in them. Something like pasta sauce is something that most kids enjoy having. Make meals with this type of food in it and they will be getting about a serving of vegetables from this.
Garden with your kids. When kids see the vegetables growing and are part of the process, it’s more likely that your child will want to at least try eating what was produced in the yard.
Let your kids pick out the meals when out shopping. When a child is involved in picking out the meal, it’s more likely that your child will eat what is there when that meal is made.
Use desert as a reward. What you do is put vegetables on your child’s plate. If the vegetables are gone, your child will get desert. Stick to this strategy so your child will learn what must be done.
Have a variety of dips, dressings, and sauces to put on the vegetables or dip the vegetables into. You can also use things like cheese to help make them taste better as well.
